Having Peace of Mind

What does it mean to have peace of mind? To me is being calm, in harmony with mind and heart. All is well, everything is in order....there is nothing to worry or stress about. I've been tugging from being depressed, lamenting my past to being anxious about a future that hasn't happen yet. However, there is the present, now, this very moment where one can have a taste and experience peace of mind and heart. It takes practice; sometimes it is really hard when I wonder what else I could've done to make things right. Other times it comes easier when I recognize that I did my best to make it work. The fun part is that I get to choose where to put my focus on and when the heart is heavy, the present looks very gloomy if I focus on what esle I could've done to make it work.
However, if at that moment , I decide to switch gears and do the opposite of what my mind is telling me, then a small window opens where I see all the things I have done to make it work. I feel a sense of acceptance to the things that are outside of my control as my head starts to nod, my body leans back to relax and I release a sigh of relief knowing that things are as they should be, that I am doing my best and things will be alright in the end.
I am not sure about having a complete peace of mind, but I am sure I'll get there one day at the time.
What about you?, what does having peace of mind means to you?
