The Message, Still Standing
Share
“For one minute, please stand here in silence and look at the sky and contemplate how beautiful life is.”
That was the message.
my work, my healing, and my life — these were all deeply tied to this land when I wrote that sign.
I just hoped that someone might pause, read it, and take a breath.
Years later, it’s still there.
Faded, weathered, but standing strong.
It’s held up through summer rains, windy afternoons, and more sunsets than I could remember.
And it still speaks its truth today.
We chase so much. We carry more than we need.
But life, what matters, is in the pause.
The moment you stop.
Breathe.
Look at the sky.
And remember you’re alive.
That little sign still does what I hoped it would.
It reminds people to slow down.
It reminds me to slow down.
One minute is enough.
Stillness is enough.
Right here is enough.
