A Trained Mind is Better Than Any Script

Ah "tell me what to do!" How many times I've said those words to myself, screamed out loud up to the heavens, hoping someone will hear it...many times in the car, hitting the steering wheel, shaking my fist, when I had not a direction of what to do with my life.
The deafening silence frustrated me, angered me. I wanted to blame someone, something and I will take it on my family, even my poor dog.
I did this and did that, expecting that my efforts will give me the results I wanted and demanded at the invisible source " there I did it, now give me what I want... and I wanted that now!
Meanwhile, unknowingly to me at that time, my higher power was preparing me for something better. I was back in basic training again, getting trained in the school of life...how to adapt to any circumstances.
I learned how to adapt to whatever life threw at me, how to be flexible like a limbo dancer. As the bar got lower and lower, I was able to adapt to the ups and downs of my life. In there I found the guidance and direction to turn my life around.
The ability to adapt, to be like water, brought me, not without many tantrums, to where I am today. I can make plans for the future and do my best to accomplish them but I learned to always "expect the unexpected " and be ready to adapt, adjust my sails and the direction of my life.
And, like Mike Tyson says here, plans last only until you're punched in the face...so adapt to any circumstances and you will be far better than sticking to and be at the mercy of your original script.
